The main research interest of CCTR is issues in China that transcend the country’s borders. We are particularly interested in how goods, services and resources coming into China change China and how China’s engagement with the world is changing the world.

Since it was founded in 2004, CCTR has published 25 Working Papers. We have presented them in various international-level academic conferences, and many of them have been published in journals and books. Topics of the papers richly range from Overseas Chinese Returnees, China’s involvement in Africa, and its search for energy and other resources.
